Environmental Organizing- $10.75/ hour plus benefits
Clean Water Action is a national, grassroots environmental organization that works to protect the environment and safeguard public health, promote passage of strong environmental laws, and help communities address local environmental problems affecting them. We are now hiring for entry-level organizers in Northampton, MA.
No experience necessary. Strong motivation and interpersonal skills a must.
Job Description:
Raise grassroots money to support our programs;
Recruit members to support our campaigns;
Provide two-way communication with people independent of the mass media;
Help people take action on issues they care about in several ways. First, by influencing governmental and community decisions (e.g., by writing letters, making phone calls, signing petitions, voting, attending meetings); and second, by changing their personal behavior through education (such as reducing pollution produced at home);
Assist local allied and member organizations and pro-environment political candidates.
