Position Title:
Senior Software Specialist
The role of the Senior Software Specialist is to lead and contribute in the Systems projects in the areas of Enterprise Applications for content management and email archiving. The responsibilities include impact analysis, design, configuration, administration and maintenance of applications, modules and sub-systems based on documented functional specifications. Most tasks will be of high/medium complexity including responsibility for detecting and resolving system integration and data errors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Work closely with the business, middle management and software assurance groups to ensure that technical designs and programs satisfy the business requirements
Provide administration, maintenance and support the enterprise content management and email archiving system.
Take ownership of system integration activities and interact with representatives from other systems
Ensure that project standards and methodologies are adhered to for all deliverables
Maintain and improve quality assurance process
Essential Skills
Expertise in Java, J2EE, Struts, Tomcat
Solid knowledge of Oracle and Unix shell scripts.
SQL Server, Windows OS
Experience working with third party software
Able to work within the overall standards set by Putnam for application development.
Ability to work from both high level and detailed requirements.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Team oriented, flexible, and creative.
Helpful, positive attitude.
Education/Work Experience
Degree in computer science, MIS or related Majors required.
5-8 years of industry experience in IT field is required (3-5 years of industry experience will be considered for Software Developer position)
Experience with SourceOne Email Manager and Discovery Manager
Experience with Documentum, DFS, DFC is a plus
Experience in Financial industry is a plus
