Quality Engineer
Reports to Quality Manager
Prominent Tier 1 Automotive Supplier has an opening for a Quality Engineer. This is a New Cornerstone position in a New Plant about to break ground in Southern Alabama.
Experience with Die Cast processes is a plus with this position.
This exciting new position is a Direct-Hire, permanent position with a salary range of $75,000 to $92,000 great Blue Cross Blue Shield benefits package and relocation assistance.
Summary of Responsibilities
Responsible for participating in development and maintenance of APQP, PPAP, and ISO-TS 16949 documentation
Participate in preparation and maintenance of process inspection instructions, reports, and quality alerts
Contribute to continual improvement efforts; which include:
Lean manufacturing
Process error proofing
CPK improvement
Problem solving and resolution
Assistance in providing timely reaction to concerns
Assist in the design, development, and approval of checking aids and fixtures
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Achieve department objectives in support of company production, quality, and safety goals
Communicate effectively with company personnel, customers, and suppliers
Attend and participate in department meetings, plant meetings, and training;
Participate in customer visitations as designated by the Quality System Manager
Support new program launches and customer expectations
Provide reports as required by the Quality System Manager
Handle confidential information on a regular basis
Encourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example
Participate in Continual Improvement activities
Lead and direct internal and external Quality system events such as TS-16949 audits and Q1 audits
Qualifications
Production and Processing -- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
Automotive fabrication processes
Customer and ISO-TS 16949 requirements
Advanced Product Quality Planning methods
B.I.W. part to part
Quality systems development
Basic welding knowledge from Quality and reliability aspects
Basic stamping knowledge regarding B.I.W. components
Education and Experience Required
Associates Degree Required, Bachelor degree in technical field preferred or equivalent experienceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
