Quality Assurance Manager


Summary of Position:
The Quality Assurance Manager will develop and manage Quality Assurance programs and activities that will ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, government regulations and industry best practices of multiple food production centers.
Will be responsible for the implementation of and compliance with the Total Quality Management of multiple food producing facilities.
Key
Responsibilities:
o Ensure that every product meets quality expectations, food safety requirements and client specifications.
o Develop and execute training programs that support the Company's objectives with regard to quality and food safety standards.
o Establish manufacturing standards, protocols and procedures for quality control throughout all Royal facilities.
o Develops and administers QA and Food Safety processes and procedures, including incoming raw material inspection, vendor qualification/inspections, HACCP programs, SQF and Organic certifications.
o Provide managerial and technical leadership to Q/A Technicians (6), HSEQ Supervisor, and the Sanitation Crew.
o Develop quality sample program of go/no go standards and visual representations of these samples.
o Define sampling frequencies.
o Develop and publish quality and food safety initiatives consistent with annual goals and objectives
o Develops Statistical Process Control (SPC) Charts and effective feedback to all employees, Supervisors, and Managers.
o Insures maintenance of the M.S.D.S. Program.
o Performs other duties as assigned
o Maintains accurate and thorough Q/A records to ensure compliance with HACCP and SQF requirements as well as full product traceability
o Monitoring the calibration of equipment, process control instruments, and food safety devices
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
o Effective management and supervisory skills with both salaries and hourly employees
o Strong communication skills, both written and oral
o Training and facilitation skills and curriculum development
o Ability to multi-task and prioritize
o Proficient in Microsoft Office
Qualifications:
o Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or related field
o Minimum of 10 years' experience in food manufacturing
o Must possess a thorough understanding of FDA, State & Local Regulatory Environment Minimum of 5-7 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing plantEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
