Manufacturing Manager
POSITION MISSION: Provide the leadership role for the machining and fab processes at the shop level. The Manufacturing Manager (MM) will be responsible for establishing & maintaining team member goals for each project. The leader in this position will have the responsibility to meet target completion dates, ship dates, and provide weekly feedback on project completion and timing.
JOB DUTIES AND TASKS:
Ensure that employee safety is a top priority
Schedule machining and fabrication labor
Answer all questions in the machine shop and fab areas in a timely and organized manner
Manage the scheduling of outsource machining and fabrication
Secure (10-15) reputable shops that work at or below our cost rate
Support the implementation of the machine shop kitting processes
Work with the shipping and receiving department to integrate the machined parts with the finished goods
Help develop the reporting process for kits and sub-assemblies
Oversee time tracking
Establish target hours per job
Time tracking per discipline
Provide daily time card review
Communicate weekly status updates for all projects being processed through the machining and fabrication area
Stream-line departmental processes
Establish stock material inventory and work with ME department to design accordingly
Develop a tooling inventory system for the machine shop
Apply standard methodology and enforces departmental standards
Ensure that shop organization and cleanliness is high priority
Establish training programs such as federally certified apprenticeship programs
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Ability to provide clear management direction for efficient manufacturing practices
Experience in developing career development plans and helping employees execute on their individual plans.
A solid understanding in the areas of fabrication, machining, and machine building practices.
5 years of experience in similar position

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
