Sequoia Mental Health Services is actively searching for full-time, part-time, and on-call Residential Counselors for day, swing, and overnight shifts in our three Washington County 24/7 residential treatment homes.

Purpose: A Residential Counselor (RC) helps guide adult clients towards their goals of recovery from disabling mental disorders. The RC is involved in the day-to-day home environment, including assisting clients in learning skills necessary to transition to independent living or a lower level of care, including cooking, cleaning, transportation, activities of daily living, administration of prescribed medication, assisting the skills trainer, attending and facilitating various groups, all while providing direct and indirect services in a manner consistent with the Recovery Model.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related human services field OR a combination of 3 years related work, education, and training.
Basic knowledge of the recovery model, and a strong belief in individual's ability to recover from severe and persistent mental disorder.
Excellent communication skills, thinking out-side the box, flexibility, creativity, and a desire to work with mentally disabled adults.
Applicant must be at least 18 years of age, receive background clearance, have a valid driver's license, and a willingness to learn and grow.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
