Role:
The role of an Assistant Manager is to learn StorQuest store operations and develop the knowledge, skills, and competency level necessary to manage day-to-day store business and achieve store goals.
Through on-the-job training, coaching, classroom training, and other assigned learning activities, the Assistant Manager will support the Store Manager in achieving store goals and while learning the skills needed to manage a store independently. Decisions and actions should be based on StorQuest's Mission at all times.
1. Customer Service
1. Creates legendary experiences for customers as a storage consultant.
2. Fully understands customers' needs and expectations.
3. Anticipates and responds to customers' current and future needs.
4. Builds effective relationships with customers.
5. Communicates a courteous, cooperative and friendly attitude towards customers and co-workers.
6. Keeps a reasonable balance between customer requests and company interests.
7. Demonstrates awareness of how their behavior affects internal and external customer satisfaction.
8. Stands to meet and greet all customers encountered in the office and on the property during lock checks.
9. Responds to customer service problems immediately; escalates the situation to the Store Manager, if needed, using the established format and process.
2. Sales
1. Demonstrates thorough product knowledge and the ability to sell StorQuest products and services to meet customer needs as a consultant based on 3 Tier approach
2. Earns StorQuest Phone Sales Certification within first 30 days and thereafter consistently rates at 85% or above expectations of a StorQuest Certified Phone Professional.
3. Assumes responsibility for and takes charge of personal success in sales performance; seeks out opportunities to learn more and improve sales skills.
4. Sells StorQuest features, benefits and competitive advantages in a customer-centered way; presents self and other store personnel as a unique competitive advantage.
5. Learns the principles of retail sales and merchandising using cross-selling and add on sales.
6. Sells related storage products and services such as retail and truck rental.
7. Follows up with online inquires within 15 minutes
8. Tracks all incoming leads in sales force/inquires.

7. Technology
1. Navigates and perform basic computer operations.
2. Develops proficiency in using the StorQuest computer system, completing all required on-line and classroom training.
8. Financial
1. Totals purchases, figures sales, counts change, and figures discounts accurately.
2. Solves business problems using percentages, decimals, and fractions.
3. Makes scheduled calls to customers as a service reminder to make payments.
4. Processes invoices, late letters and certified mailings within the established collections timeline.
5. Learns basic office financials including:
petty cash fund, reconciling common banking transactions and handling bank deposits.
6. Learns to read, review, and interpret PL reports with Manager, Team Leader, and District Manager.
9. Staffing
1. Refers qualified candidates to the District Manager and Human Resources.
2. Helps Manager, Team Leader, and District Manager identify staffing needs in the region.
10. Store Operations
1. Conducts day-to-day business in a manner consistent with the Core Operating Standards.
2. Understands and works according to the business plan, goals, and action steps at each store worked; knows the performance expectations (including occupancy goals, insurance penetration, task list, retail sales expectations, etc.) and is familiar with district goals.
3. Answers the truck rental phone promptly; contributes to the achievement of targeted truck rental volume and ancillary product sales goals.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
