Our client has been in business for over 50 years. Our customer designs and builds manufacturing equipment and assembly systems for customers in the automotive and aviation/aerospace industries. Business is strong. In order to meet increasing customer demands, our client is adding to its applications engineering team.
Principle
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership in the analysis and application of customer specifications, pricing, quoting, rationalization, market development and competitors.
Champion strategic and tactical projects with engineering and sales departments to complete project and assignment deadlines.
Coordinate and monitor the progress of in-house proposals. Ensure the completion of proposals within the specified time frames, and coordinate due date extensions with the appropriate salesperson.
Review and evaluate general client technical specifications and contract requirements.
Manage, disseminate and expedite required information between engineering, sales and other departments involved in the proposal process.
Resolve and clarify issues with proposal specification and inquiry documents.
Support sales to develop final selling price, costing, and develop a project timeline.
Review and quality check proposals and client bid forms/documents.
Minimum
Qualifications:
BSME or technical degree preferred, but will definitley consider a non degreed candidate
5 or more years' experience in sales engineer, process development and/or mechanical solution development position
Earlier experience as apprentice in a tool & die shop a plus
Manufacturing precision assembly/ Mechanical Engineering background in a custom design and build manufacturing environment
Solid quoting experience
Ability to plan complex projects and coordinate resources to complete assignments on schedule
Experience in either automotive or aerospace/aviation industry
Strong PC skills, especially Office Suite: Excel, Access and Word.
CAD skills with various platforms
Proven leadership skills
Strong oral communication skill
