Logistics Supervisor (first shift)


Summary:
The Logistics Supervisor will assist the Logistics Manager in operating an efficient shipping, documentary and customs compliant department. The incumbent will be responsible for organizing staff resources and to plan daily activities of shipping company works orders both for domestic and overseas delivery and to supervise the safe and efficient flow of incoming materials to production. The Supervisor will ensure all staff are working in a safe and secure environment; will train and develop staff in procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements.

Responsibilities:
Develops a production plan by reviewing production schedules, estimating work hours, and coordinating material flow with other departments. Diagnoses or assists in the diagnoses of equipment malfunctions and actively participates in the repair/adjustment of equipment issues.
Maintains time and production records and keeps management informed of progress, developments, and pending problems.
Responds to customer concerns and ensures production targets are met by making adjustments to the production schedule, equipment and or processes as appropriate.
Trains, develops, motivates, and leads a team of people to achieve established goals and objectives related to production, utilization, quality, safety, etc. Encourages employees to make suggestions to improve the production process by leading and/or participating in Kaizen events, listening to suggestions, and promoting two-way open communications among employees, co-workers, peers and management. Responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to established safety practices and maintaining housekeeping requirements.
Responsible for understanding company policies, and for developing employees by coaching, counseling, and disciplining in accordance with such policies.
Consistently works on continuous improvement processes to include recommending measures to improve working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency and quality of facility, equipment, processes, or worker performance standards.
Interface with customers, engineers, and management to support the company's goals and objectives
Coordinate deliveries with customers and transportation and resolve any issues with customers or suppliers

REQUIREMENTS:
Strong computer skills with ERP systems and MS office programs
Prior experience in material handling or packaging capacity of a manufacturing company.
Working knowledge of material handling and warehouse and equipment and storage techniques
High School Diploma or GED
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving ability
Excellent interpersonal skills to train motivate and lead employees
Must be able to work any shifts and/or flexible hours
High level of energy and enthusiasm
Strong desire to work in a team-oriented environment
Must be able to walk/move about a 125,000 sq ft manufacturing facility: 100% of the time
Must be able to stand/walk/move about specific work area: 90% of the time
Must be able to bend/reach/twist/stoop: 70% of the time
Must be able to lift up to 40lbs on a frequent basis: 40% of the time
Must be able to lift over 40lbs on an infrequent basis: 15% of the time
Must be able to work and operate a computer terminal: 80% of the time
Vision is required to analyze and process work; and to work on computer terminal/machine centers, etc.
Hearing is essential for safety reasons; and to communicate with employees, supervisors, managers, vendors, suppliers and customers via conversation, group meetings, and/or phone conferences
Must be able to wear a painting suit and/or respirator
Must be able to work with paints/solvents/cleaners
Must be able to work any shift as required including overtime as needed

PREFERRED:
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience
Familiarity with SAP R/3 MM and PP experience
Experience with international supply chain logistics

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
