Program Manager

The Program Manager is accountable for organizing and leading customer-specific projects, leading project teams, and meeting timelines and approval gateways throughout the launch process. Direct customer interface and vendor selection required while monitoring production-ready progress to meet quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
Must have successfully launched at least two (2), major ($20 million+) programs to one or more German OEM's in the US (i.e. BMW, Mercedes, and/or Volkswagen)
Must know and have worked within the German OEM launch culture, have an understanding of their systems
Have established a proven track record of building relationships with German engineers
Must be a methodical Program Manager with attention to detail (documentation), control of cost, and gate reviews
Red, Yellow, Green review mentality, good problem-solving skills
Well-versed in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Project
Ability to plan well and communicate diligently (read, write, speak English fluently) with team
Ability to perform well under pressure situations

Job Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, follow up and implement APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) activities for assigned programs
Ensure compliance with CPMP (Cosma Program Management Process) and Mafact standards
Lead Cross Functional Team(s), responsible for each program, conduct regular team meetings, document open issues and actions, follow-up with individual team member's assignments to ensure completion
Apply and comply with AIAG (Automotive Industry Action Group) standards & procedures
Interfaces with product engineering & sales department
Establish and maintain budgets for assigned programs
Provide customer interface for assigned programs
Provide program engineering support for duration of program
Generate and implement Continuous Improvement projects
Housekeeping and other activities as assigned
Occasional travel with overnight stay required

Education
Bachelor's Degree (BS) from a four-year college or university, or three to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
High school graduate or equivalent

Experience & Abilities
Excellent teamwork skills required
Ability to read blueprints, metal fabricating, GD&T and TS16949 requirements, computer-aided design helpful
Individual to be mechanically inclined, self-motivated and reliable
Individual must observe all safety regulations to insure own and others' safety
Ability to work overtime as required
Additional skills helpful
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus
Tool and die or technical knowledge helpful (not required, but a plus)
Ability to speak German is highly preferred
Contract negotiation experience also a plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
