Licensed Practical Nurse LPN
These are full time second and third shift positions at Pickaway Correctional Institution.
Minimum Qualifications -- License to practice nursing as a licensed practical nurse issued by Ohio Board of Nursing pursuant to Section 4723 Ohio Revised Code and proof of completion of an approved course in medication administration and certification in IV Therapy. The Nurse shall have NO restrictions to practice.
Duties Include but are not limited to -- Administer nursing care within scope of practice as set forth in Division (F) of Section 4723.01 of Ohio Revised Code under direction of a registered nurse, licensed physician, dentist, podiatrist, optometrist or chiropractor (e.g., administer oxygen, apply sterile dressing, insert catheters; reinsert gastronomy tubes, suction, irrigate wounds; give enemas, douches; collect specimens; perform dialysis treatments, operate hemodialysis equipment and monitor patient during procedure at Pickaway Correctional Institution only); assist physicians with physical exams, treatments and/or laboratory tests; assist in emergencies by administering first-aid, performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and/or restraining patients; administer controlled drugs such as narcotics and minor tranquilizers and non-controlled medication in oral, rectal, topical or injectable form and provide medication instructions to patients. Maintain medication accountability records (e.g., charts patient records, prepares and counts medication, maintain medication stock and medical equipment and supplies)Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
