Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President for Administrative Services, the Director Environmental Services provides leadership of the environmental services department, including linen services and exterior trash and grounds cleaning, to achieve defined objectives and standards in safety, quality, service, engagement and financial administration, ensuring all licensure, regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., DOH, DOL, DNV, OSHA, CDC/NIOSH) are met or exceeded in hospital cleanliness and employee safety. Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures with effective resource utilization to ensure compliance with regulatory and hospital standards. Manages staff to achieve a high performing work team, interview and selecting candidates for positions in environmental services, providing for ongoing development, and training and continuous performance management for individuals and teams relative to measurable outcomes and standards.
Education Requirements:
Required: Associates degree, or professional training or certification in EVS management in a healthcare facility.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field
Licensure/Certification Registration:
Preferred: Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional certification
Required
Experience:
Required: Must have a minimum of five years of progressive EVS management experience, with at least two years at the lead EVS executive position for the employer/facility.
Preferred: Experience in a unionized health care settingEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
