System Administrator
Overview: The Systems Administrator is responsible for recommending, implementing, maintaining and supporting the information technology infrastructure, providing the tools and information necessary for informed business decisions.
KEY RESULTS:
Supports the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems
Supports the recommendations of the design and configuration of operating systems and system applications
Investigates and analyses feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications
Maintain and document operational, configuration, or other technical-level procedures
Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions
KEY ACTIVITIES and AREAS OF
Responsibilities:
Systems Administration and Support
Install new software releases, system upgrades; evaluate and install patches
Identify and resolve software related conflicts
Responds to telephone calls, email and in-person requests for technical support
Identify, research, and resolve technical problems
Tracks and monitors the problem to insure a timely resolution.
Communications Systems
Review, evaluate and plan communications systems structure.
Troubleshoot communications systems and recommend improvements.
Provide documentation/project tracking and management reporting.
Provide tactical and strategic input on overall communications planning and related projects.
Install, configure and maintain organization's networks.
Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals.
Documents, maintain, upgrade or replace hardware and software systems.
Network Administration Support
COMPETENCIES:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year for year basis.
Programming and systems software and support and server and network virtualization (Hyper-V)
Positive, can do attitude with the willingness to learn.
Strong communication skills.
Self-motivated team player.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
