Structural Engineer
A growing, professional civil engineering and surveying firm has an immediate opening for full time architect or civil/structural engineer in a fast-paced environment. Engineer will be required to execute architectural/civil/structural engineering design for small to medium commercial projects which include concrete and steel structures, retaining walls, foundations and structural components for static and dynamic loads as well as addressing building envelope changes including cladding, masonry, roofs and slabs. Responsible for developing Civil/Structural Engineering calculations, cost estimates, schedules and construction packages. Engineer will work with internal project managers, designers, and other discipline engineers as well as external consulting firms in the execution of projects.
Primary responsibilities include preparing drawings with CADD, assisting in plan preparation such as information gathering and plan production.
Candidates should be able to manage computer file systems, understand file interrelationships and customize data with the individual files; have the ability to identify specific information from a substantial amount of related data or written information from such sources as reports, survey notes, manuals and specifications; possess the ability to read and understand the terminology and symbols used in survey notes, plans, shop drawings, aerial photographs, and maps to interpret data and information for use in designing construction plans and maps; possess the ability to accurately transfer information in numerical, written, sketched, or electronic format from sources such as survey data, aerial photographs, and computer files to final plans and maps; visualize and illustrate a concept or design in two or three dimensions; identify errors, problems, or non-standard situations and suggests alternatives; develop and implement custom automated drafting and design procedures; possess software proficiency in AutoCad, Microsoft-Outlook, Word, Excel.
Candidates must be able to manage office functions economically and efficiently, organize work, establish priorities, and maintain good interpersonal relations and communications with staff and clientsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
