Job Title: Business Manager
Description: HOBSON USA is in immediate need of a Business Manager for our Client, a quality driven commercial Environmental Service Contractor in Hyattsville, Maryland who is a prime and a subcontractor. The candidate must demonstrate experience in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a business including strong personnel management skills. The position requires the capabilities to estimate and manage demolition and asbestos abatement projects and will also be responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships. The position requires the ability to full-cycle projects from inception, estimating, project management through to closeout of the projects.
Key Responsibilities
& work to grow the companys profits by attracting new customers and bringing existing relationships and customers to the company
& develop relationships with owners in order to produce profitable opportunities for the company
& prepare and deliver presentations to the customer as necessary to market company and present project proposals
& maintain customer relationships and ensure customer loyalty through excellent customer service as well as meeting all client needs
& budget/estimate projects thoroughly, timely and accurately
& estimate, manage and closeout multiple projects simultaneously
& provide strong leadership skills to effectively manage staff of all levels
& be proactive in reducing unsettled change orders in a timely manner
The skills required for this position will include (but not be limited to):
& strong presentation skills
& strong track record of business-to-business sales at a corporate level
& ability to work effectively with owners, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
& excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
& ability to evaluate and analyze bids and award contracts
& review and process submittals if necessary
& develop project schedules
& manage vendor contracts; review vendor invoices to process for payment
& intermediate use of Microsoft software is required (specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, Schedule); knowledge of Timberline is a plus
Scheduled Hours: Monday Friday, Full Time
Qualifications/ Requirements: & minimum of 10 years commercial construction experience and a proven background in business management is required.
& minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required, college degree is a plus.
& government security clearance is a plus.
& previous experience working on federal and local government projects is a plus.
