Summary:
The California Digital Library (CDL) fulfills its mission to support libraries and scholars by providing over 20 award winning services, addressing all stages of the research life cycle, from a systemwide library catalog, to tools for managing data, to publishing faculty scholarship. CDL collaborates with the ten University of California campuses and external partners to develop strategies and initiatives that support scholarship in the digital age.
Generic Scope: Experienced professional who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field; independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; possesses broad job knowledge; analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determines solutions.
Custom Scope: Uses project management skills and knowledge of the research process, data management, and data sharing to manage, promote, and enhance the DMPTool.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or a minimum of two to three years of data management, curation management including datasets, content description and representation, metadata standards, and relevant workflows.
Knowledge of and experience with data driven research and the emerging importance of data management and sharing. Familiarity with new data sharing policies required by funding agencies and journal publishers.
Excellent project management skills and experience coordinating and promoting services. Proven ability to research, collect and analyze information to use in determining product options or alternatives.
Demonstrated ability to engage with people in new settings as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to lead, build consensus and promote the exchange of information among project team, internal and external constituencies.
Strong oral communication skills to effectively convey and explain information to different audiences.
Strong written communications skills to draft clear, concise documentation, reports and specifications.
Demonstrated understanding of the research data processes including data collection, description, sharing, preservation, and management.
Familiarity with basic user assessment techniques and demonstrated experience working with academic communities and technology staff to build and express use cases and functional requirements.
Entrepreneurial attitude to developing services; self-motivated, with the ability to set and attain goals effectively and the flexibility to adapt to change.
Experience with Microsoft Office required.
Preferred:
Experience with GitHub, Markdown, HTML, and coding languages (e.g., Ruby, Python) are desirable.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
