Purpose of the Position: Under general supervision this position is responsible for development, maintenance, and implementation of controls systems, standards, policies and procedures capable of delivering reliable equipment efficiency and capable functions for the maintenance and production team at MBUSI.
Essential Functions: (List all basic responsibilities related to the purpose of the position)
Maintain plant controls standards including software, fieldbus networks, visualization systems, hardware, configuration and documentation
Responsible for managing outsourcing activities & selection of key service contractors and suppliers.
Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance training programs as related to the controls based technologies. Deliver training in areas of technical expertise.
Defining controls systems life cycle and developing plans associated with them. These plans will include rebuilds, upgrades, and replacements as required.
Supporting the shops with controls systems analysis, downtime problem solving, and countermeasure plan/implementation in order to increase shop efficiency/reduce equipment downtime
Expert level controls support for downtime troubleshooting and continuous improvement projects in the shops.
Plan and prepare for controls systems for product changes and their impact on processes, equipment, tooling, in conjunction with supporting departments (Prod, PE, Maintenance, etc.)
Development, improvement, and modification of controls related equipment standards, buy-off standards and scope of work standards.
Equipment safety standards related to current and new technologies
Project management, planning, design reviews, implementation, and successful execution of expense and capital related projects. Includes design reviews and buy-off support.
Plan and coordinating weekend work and shutdown activities.
Participating in weekend work activities overseeing/coordinating contractors and supporting maintenance activities.
Responsible for initial spare parts setup and establishing correct inventory levels.
Exchange information with plant engineering team, and our international standards team.
Administration:
Perform/participate in practical problem solving and the implementation of countermeasures.
Develop single point lessons, procedures, and guidelines relating to equipment needs.
Write project justifications, develop scope of work standards, and project timelines.
Prepare formal reports for the purpose of communicating problem/project status.

Performs other related duties as required.
Financial authority and responsibility:
According to MBUSI Policy.
Qualifications: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.
Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering or related area and/or the equivalent combination of education or experience.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance engineering or a related engineering field is necessary with the above required degree. Must be experienced in PLC controls and associated hardware, including field bus network systems.
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.: Working knowledge of MS Office and MS Project. Innovative thinking, problem solving, troubleshooting, budget management, annual and long term planning, work in a team environment.
Preferred Skills:
German Language Skills
PLCs AB (Control Logix) and Siemens 300 or 400 series PLC with Inegrated Safety, Pilz 3006.
Network Hardware AB Stratix Switch Line, Siemens Scalence Switch Line, I/O (i.e. Siemens ET 200s, Rockwell Point I/O, etc).
Network Systems ControlNet, DeviceNet, EthernetIP, SafetyBus, Profinet, Profisafe and Profibus. This includes associated I/O configurations.
Drives-VFDs- SEW, Lenze, Allen Bradley
Software Programming experience
RSLogix 5000, Siemens Step 7, RSView, Delphi, Visual Basic, VBAEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
