Design Staffing, LLC is searching for multiple FOIA Reviewers. Positions are located at Ft Meade, MD. Candidate must have Top Secret SCI Full Scope Polygraph.
The FOIA Reviewer will interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies, and guidance to provide access to Federal agency records and information, while ensuring protected information is appropriately disclosed. You will maintain and respond to FOIA requests in accordance with established Department of Justice guidance, procedures and other regulatory requirements.
Duties:
o Review permanent records through the established records management process.
o Locate and collect requested records (manual and electronic searches).
o Research and evaluate material, applying regulatory guidelines and procedures that will assist in determining what is releasable under the provisions of the FOIA.
o Analyze and base-line FOIA requests to determine status in order to close/ resolve.
o Redact or release information as appropriate after collaboration with experts/ attorneys.
o Prepare appropriate correspondence.
o Resolve complex and simple FOIA requests.
o Perform administrative duties: copying, searching and compiling responsive documentation.
o Possess and apply technical knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act, 5 U.S.C. 552(A), Executive Order 13,392 and the 9 FOIA exemptions.
o Research requests, identify legal issues, and determine through analysis whether there is a basis in FOIA to assert an exemption to disclosure.
o Provide advice and guidance for issues that require interpretation pertaining to the FOIA.
o Research and prepare a variety of written materials and correspondence related to requests for information under the FOIA.
REQUIREMENTS:
o An active/current TS/SCI Lifestyle, CI, or FS Polygraph
o Education - Minimum High School Graduate
o 5 years NSA or equivalent cryptologic experience in an operational environment
o 1-3 years of FOIA experience
o Experience preparing responses to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests using exemptions and preparing FOIA appeal responses.
o Experience FOIA case processing within the DoD, requiring meticulous preparation, proof reading, dissemination of documents, and/or operation of complex equipment.
o Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems and applications.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
o An active/current TS/SCI Lifestyle, FS Polygraph
o 5 years of FOIA experience
o Ability to read and assimilate information rapidly and use it to make timely and accurate decisions.
o Ability to communicate effectively and good interpersonal communication skills
o Ability to work well as a team member
o Reliable and dependable
o Ability to work at a computer workstation for extended periods of time.
o Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing needs (within limitations) of the position
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
