Subway Restaurant Manager

We are seeking a Restaurant Manager for our Subway restaurant location that is located inside of our Handy Mart in Mount Olive, NC. Previous experience in food service management is a huge plus. The Restaurant Manager is responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, promoting the Easy to do Business With philosophy, and embracing the We Care attitude of E. J. Pope & Son, Inc.
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for operating their assigned store according to company policies and guidelines, to maximize both sales and profits. The Store Manager recruits, selects, directs and develops their store employees so that all company goals and standards are met.
Reports to: Branded Foods Supervisor
Duties and Responsibilities
A. Safety
1. Provides and maintains a completely safe work environment at all times.
2. Advises Supervisor and Human Resources if any employee is injured on the job-IMMEDIATELY. Ensures an incident report is completed quickly & accurately and submitted to Human Resources department the same day.
3. Advises Supervisor and Human Resources of any customer injuries-IMMEDIATELY. Ensures an incident report is completed quickly & accurately and submitted to Human Resources department the same day.
4. Keeps Supervisor aware of any personnel situations that may have an adverse effect
on the safe operations of the store.
5. Ensures that all safety guidelines are implemented and adhered to.
6. Adheres to all Health Department and Franchise guidlelines regarding food safety.
7. Keeps store floors clean at all time using Caution Wet Floor signs.
8. Does not empty trash or go outside after dark.
9. Secure all storage room doors during each shift
10. Assures store employees are trained in the cause, prevention and response to robbery.
11. Assures the maintenance of a good working relationship with local law enforcement.
B. Excellent Customer Service:
1. Understanding and implementation of all aspects of hospitality.
2. Follows all guidelines regarding the Shine Program, especially greeting customer within 3 seconds.
3. Promote positive attitude and exhibit such to customers. Positive attitude can be demonstrated through actions of employees.
4. Takes all steps in assuring the store maintains a health score of 97 or above
5. Stays familiar with and educates all employees regarding all products, equipment, bulletins and promotions to provide customer with the most up-to-date product offerings.
6. Be able to act responsibly in case of a customer complaint, and make service recovery equal to or greater than the complaint. Inform Supervisor as soon as possible of any potential or actual complaints.
C. Cash and Inventory Control
1. Manager is ultimately responsible for controlling cash and inventory for the location.
2. Makes appropriate cash drops as required by management and franchise policy.
3. Immediately reports ALL shortages of more than $10.00 to Supervisor, then investigates and takes appropriate action on cash and inventory shortages. Educates all store employees on the causes of each.
4. Properly secures all monies when store closes.
5. Makes timely bank deposits either personally or by another authorized employee.
6. Ensures food order is performed and called into vender in a timely manner.
7. Ensures all deliveries are checked and verified for accuracy.
8. Ensures all deliveries are entered into the POS.
9. Maintains an adequate inventory at all times in an effort to minimize/eliminate product outages, without creating an excessive inventory.
10. Performs accurate weekly and monthly inventory counts.
11. Responsible for Food Cost controls to and meeting the budgets set by the Supervisor.
12. Weekly Inventory and Sales Report (WISR). Ensure it is entered into the POS & VPN and uploaded to Subway Headquarters.
13. Ensures an accurate bread count is conducted daily
D. Bookkeeping
1. Preparation and review of Daily, Weekly and Monthly reports in a timely manner.
2. Properly clocks in and outs as hours are worked.
3. Follows own work schedule as posted, unless altered or approved by Supervisor.
4. Ensures that all employees properly record all hours worked accurately and timely on ADP.
5. Ensures that employee time sheets are approved in a timely fashion, daily.
6. Properly accounts for waste.
7. Completes and analyzes trend sheets daily, weekly and monthly. (Labor, Food Cost, Units Reports)
E. Maintenance
1. Checks refrigeration equipment temperatures during all shifts
2. Ensures that all equipment is properly cleaned and sanitized during operating hours and at closing.
3. Cleans bathrooms as needed: to include toilets, urinals, sinks, floors, walls and baseboards.
4. Informs Maintenance Department of any maintenance issues via Service Desk, within 24 hours.
F. Personnel
1. Recruits, screens, interviews and recommends or does the hiring of store employees to meet the staffing needs of the store.
2. Provides training and development of all store employees utilizing company resources and the current Subway Operations Manual.
3. Ensures store is properly staffed during peak hours of operation, within the guidelines established by the Supervisor.
4. Continually evaluates store employees and assists them in ways to improve their performance.
5. Recommends employees for wage increases on a timely basis. Conducts performance reviews on employees on a timely basis.
6. Disciplines employees as needed. Issues verbal and written warnings as appropriate ensuring progressive disciplinary procedures when warranted.
7. Recommends or does employee termination and prepares required documentation.
8. Investigates and resolves employee complaints and grievances. Reports appropriate matters to Store Supervisor.
9. Continually strives to maintain a constant work force through continued efforts of reducing turnover.
10. Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal laws. (Re: Wage and Hour, ABC, EPA, etc.)
11. Develops the Assistant Manager to be capable of operating the store just as the Manager.
12. Prepares employee work schedule in advance. Standard time frame should be two weeks in advance.
13. Exhibits understanding and compassion to the personal needs and welfare of all employees and balances with the needs of the store.
G. Other Job Functions
1. Enforces all company policies and procedures. Monitors compliance.
2. Enforces all franchisee policies and procedures. Monitors compliance.
3. Assures all housekeeping needs are attended to in order to maintain an excellent eye appeal for the customers.
4. Ensures that no collect calls are made to the store and accepted by any employee.
5. Recommends ways to increase sales, profits, and all store operating efficiencies.
6. Assumes an awareness of local community activities and makes recommendations for participation in appropriate activities.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
