Warehouse/Distribution Manager

Overall Responsibilities: Responsible overall strategy and operations of the MPA warehouse and 3rd party warehouse providers. Accountable for achieving overall operating results consistent with the company goals. Directs communication and collaboration with the customers of the warehouse (local and regional). Develop a quality organization that's meets the company expectations for Reliability, speed, accuracy and safety. In addition, the manager oversees the recruiting, training, development and coaching of all warehouse team members.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with supervisors and leads to coordinate warehouse activities, such as shipping, receiving, capacity planning and inventory control. Reviews and evaluates all warehouse functions.
Manage the daily activity of all shipping, receiving, and inventory warehouse team members to assure a high level of customer service.
Act as a liaison between Operations, Materials, and Warehouse functions.
Manage departmental budgets
Interview, select, and train warehouse and supervisory Team members
Inspect Physical condition of the warehouses, including all equipment, and maintains, repairs or replaces as required
Responsible for the execution of distribution requirements planning, inventory transfers, scrap, shrink and performing Physical Inventories.
Assist with defect, scrap and rework identification and reduction.
Manage a cycle count team to improve and sustain high inventory accuracies, while adhering to count requirements and schedule.
Define, develop and set in place metrics for warehouse personnel to deliver on labor efficiency, storage density, safety, FIFO, on time shipping, truck utilization, shipment density and other key KPIs
Identify and install best practices for warehouse supervision and product flow
Lead material flow improvement projects that support maximum utilization
Cross train Team members in all aspects of Warehouse operations including OSHA, other safety and asset security
Assist Operations with manufacturing problems and issues.
Participate in development, implementation and monitoring of all safety programs.
Lead, supervise, and mentor warehouse personnel creating a culture that focuses on safety, operational excellence, and outstanding customer service.
Write capital projects for various logistics projects requiring new equipment or structures etc.
Actively participate in kaizen events
Research and evaluate the use of technologies, such as radio-frequency identification (RFID), GPS tracking, forklift monitoring/utilization hardware, etc.
Implement and lead a plant recycling team to ensure maximal efficiency of product recycling, reuse, or final disposal.
Conduct 6S audits of all plant and warehouse storage areas.
Evaluate effectiveness of current or future logistical processes.
Evaluate current state and develop specifications for equipment, tools, facility layouts, or material-handling systems.
Identify cost-reduction or process-improvement logistic opportunities.
Identify or develop business rules or standard operating procedures to streamline logistics processes.
Determine feasibility of designing new facilities or modifying existing facilities, based on factors such as cost, available space, schedule, technical requirements, or ergonomics.
Determine logistics support requirements, such as facility details, staffing needs, safety or maintenance plans.
Conduct logistics studies or analyses, such as time studies, rate analyses, flow-path analyses, or supply chain analyses.
Develop logistic metrics, internal logistics analysis tools, or key performance indicators that support overall plant goals & objectives
Review material packaging and transportation methods both internally and external to improve overall logistics costs and reduced scrap.
Perform other Job-related duties as assigned.


Minimum Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Management, Supply Chain, or related degree highly preferred.
7-10 years of experience in a warehousing, distribution or shipping management.
5
years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment.
Prior experience managing people in a fast paced distribution environment.
Strong leadership, motivational, and team-building skills.
Ability to resolve crisis and make quick decisions.
Strong computer skills (Mircrosoft Office Suite) and familiarity with AS400 or other mainframe systems.
Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of industrial engineering and supply chain management.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
