Summary: The purpose of this position is to administer the Nursing Services under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the facility, and local, state and federal regulations, to maximize the fulfillment of care-giving needs of the residents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
o Recognize and respond to changes in residents' conditions and document observations, interventions and outcomes.
o Orient, instruct and supervise other nursing personnel.
o Evaluate resident' condition and care and develop overall care plans for residents, including rehab and restorative activities.
o Review and re-write care plans as directed.
o Order medications from facility pharmacy.
o Requisition diet orders and supplies.
o Perform emergency procedures such as Cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
o Recognize, intervene and report accidents and incidents when they occur.
o Assist with the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing of the Nursing Services Department, as well as related programs and activities, incompliance with rules and regulations governing long term care facilities, employers, and in accordance with facility policy.
o Assist in facilitating the coordination of nursing services with other departments to maintain quality care for residents, and offer equal opportunities for employees.
o Assist in reviewing, monitoring, intervention and documentation of complaints and grievances from residents, families, visitors and employees.
o Assist in organizing, managing, reviewing, monitoring, authorizing and administering nursing care functions for residents within the facility.
o Complete the monthly Medication Administration Records.
o Assist with the scheduling report of personnel; as well as the daily assignments of individuals working in the Nursing Services Department.
o Assist in making routine rounds and conducting tours with others.
o Monitor the workplace for possible health and safety hazards and assist in the development and conducting of routine health, safety and back care training programs to prevent worker injuries.
o Assist the DON in conducting disability management programs to reduce workers injuries and track departmental accountability; assist in following up with routine personal contact of injured workers.
o Consider and offer reasonable accommodations for early return to work programs.
o Solicit, review, intervene and report complaints and grievances made by residents, families, visitors and employees.
o Attend and participate in orientation programs, on-going training and educational classes.
o Maintain privacy and confidentiality of records, conditions, and other information relating to residents, employees and facility.
o Meet or exceed the dress code of the facility as specified in the Employee Handbook, which includes neat, clean, odor-free grooming and dress.
o Follow the established universal precautions and isolation procedures.
o Encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth and interest in residents' personal and health care needs.
MARGAINAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
o Assist in the development and implementation of universal precautions and isolation procedures, and assist in reviewing and monitoring compliance by staff.
o Assist in reviewing and determining validity of licensed and/or certified personnel for meeting the requirements of state and federal regulations.
o Assist in inventorying, identifying and monitoring the storage of equipment, supplies, etc.
o Assist with the planning, development and conducting of in-service education for staff on related Nursing Services functions.
o Participate in various committees of the facility, such as care plan, infection controls, pharmaceutical, budget, quality assessment and assurance, ADA compliance committee, etc., and those assigned by the DON.
o Participate in surveys made by authorized government agencies.
o Assist in determining the staff needs of the Nursing Services Department, recommendation of number of employees needed, and assist with the recruitment and hiring of Nursing Service personnel
o Meet with nursing personnel as scheduled, to assist in identifying and correcting problems, and/or the improvement of services.
o Assist in arranging for and overseeing resident admissions, transfers and discharges.
o Assist in developing, maintaining and periodically updating written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Services Department.
o Assist in maintaining a reference library of written nursing materials that will assist the Nursing Services Department in meeting residents' needs and comply with state and federal regulations.
o Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
Education: Registered Nursing Degree preferring, Licensed Practical Nursing required.
Relevant
Experience: Two (2) years experience in supervision of others in a hospital, long term care facility, or other health care institution. Minimum of one (1) year experience implementing total patient care and care planning. Minimum of six (6) months experience in geriatric and/or psychiatric nursing.
Computer Skills: Intermediate skills, including Microsoft Office.
Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Practical Nursing License.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
