Summary:
Maintains and services Transport Refrigeration Units in railcars. Conducts equipment inspections and performs diagnostic tests to determine unit readiness and/or deficiencies. Performs installs, repairs, adjustments and replacement of refrigeration components, such as compressors, engines, coils, and electrical systems. Enhances service department and organizations reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing work that meets and exceeds customer expectations. Practices and promotes a safety culture.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
o Determines unit condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
o Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventative maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion.
o Corrects system deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems such as, Engines, Electrical repairs, Electronic diagnostic trouble shooting and repair, exhaust and fuel system repair.
o Verifies equipment performance by conducting system tests, and downloads.
o Maintains unit appearance by cleaning and washing.
o Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
o Keeps shop equipment operating by following operational instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventative maintenance; and making needed repairs.
o Keeps shop and work area clean and free of clutter.
o Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating services and repairs.
o Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications.
o Enhances contract service department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
o Wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and is compliant with Safety procedures.
o Demonstrates ability to work with other team members and learn from experienced Technicians.
o Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned by management.
Job Requirements:
Aptitude in a technical and mechanical role and willingness to learn about Transport Refrigeration Units (TRU's).
Capacity to demonstrate technical knowledge of refrigeration systems, materials, methods and tools to perform, prioritize and complete work.
Utilize critical thinking skills, problem solving abilities, and exercises good judgment when completing tasks in an efficient, correct and productive manner.
Coordinate tools, resources and equipment to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
Active listening skills, oral/written comprehension and commitment to perform quality service.
Basic computer and data entry skills for Windows based software programs e.g. Dossier software a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft office suite: Outlook, Word helpful.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
