Quality Assurance Supervisor


Summary:
This goal of this position is to manage the flow of the incoming and outgoing product with high quality standards in mind as well as documenting and recording essential quality activities. This person will work closely with all department heads to ensure all product is quickly moving through the system and ensure all orders meet customer specs. This individual will be part of the Mission QA team that strives to meet and exceed all regulation and lead the industry in Quality. In addition, this position also involves some analytical skills with testing and project management a requirement with changing quality concerns by COO.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and
Responsibilities:
o Conduct routine visual and physical inspections, sampling and testing of product and to insure conformance to established Mission and customer standards.
o Willingness to get hands on to fully understand what workers are doing and understand the effects of changes
o Oversees all finished good inventory and works with all department heads and sales to address any areas where there are issues/concerns
o Understand and track customer returns. Determine common root causes and provide solutions.
o Effective scheduling of team for full coverage of needs while minimizing OT
o Oversees QA team that is responsible for performing inspections during these processes:
? Inbounds
? Cold Storage
? Outbound orders/transfers
o Typical duties for QA team include:
? Cooler temperature monitoring
? Fruit temperature recording
? Equipment inspections and calibrations
? Aging reports
? Transfer inspections
? Fruit Inspections
? Fruit and packaging experiments
o Be able to follow and perform duties assigned by Quality Assurance Manager.
o Be able to manage transfer schedule and work with regulatory agencies (i.e. USDA/FDA) to ensure all product is cleared for sell and distribution
o Insure accuracy of data generated throughout the shift.
o Continuously look to innovate and improve current processes in department to meet ever changing demands.
o Ensure all orders meet customer specs
o Participate in weekly FDC Quality Meeting.
o Must be a motivated, self-starter with good people and communication skills.
o Recognizes and adapts easily to changing priorities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
o Knowledge of science and agriculture.
o Must have a minimum of 2 years in Quality Assurance.
o Demonstrated leadership and management skills
o Excellent ability to identify business process improvements and report existing deficiencies
o Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail
o Ability to deal with changing objectives, deadlines, and priorities beyond one's control as needed.
o Ability to remain calm and unemotional in stressful situations.
o Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including ability to create and modify spreadsheets to generate reports.
o Perform job tasks objectively under occasional peer pressure
o Effective communication skills
o Ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organization
o Ability to accomplish and manage tasks in a timely manner without constant direct supervision.
o Flexible work hours.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
o Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or related discipline
o AS400 skills a plus
o Experience supervising others
o Experience with USDA regulations
o Ability to communicate, both oral and written, in English and SpanishEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
