The General Manager is a key role in the Five Guys operations. They are trained to work in many different positions within the restaurant. Qualified candidates must posses the following:
o Effectively manages a Five Guys restaurant, including but not limited to administration of policies, guidelines, and ensuring 100% customer satisfaction at all times.
o Maintains fast, accurate service, positive guest relations, and ensuring products are consistent with company quality standards
o Ensures that the Occupational Safety and Health Act, local health and safety codes, as well as the company safety and security policies are being adhered to
o Controls day-to-day operations by scheduling, ordering, and developing the restaurants team.
o Controls profit & loss, by following cash control/security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, reviewing financial reports, and taking appropriate actions.
o Recruits, interviews, and hires team members, conducts performance appraisals, takes disciplinary action, motivates and trains
o Has authority to hire and terminate (or participate in those decisions) with approval/partnership from Human Resources
o Makes sure the restaurant is in compliance with the preventative maintenance program with regards to facility, equipment, and grounds maintenance.
o Ensures food quality and 100% customer satisfaction
o Ensures complete and timely execution of corporate & local marketing programs
o Ensures a safe working and customer experience environment by facilitating safe work behaviors of the team
Qualifications
o 2-4 years of supervisory experience in a food service or retail environment
o High School Diploma or GED
o Experience in providing exceptional customer service is required
Skills
o Excellent communication skills
o Basic mathematical skills are required
o The ability to be flexible and adapt to any situation
o Proven track record of leadership or managerial skills
o Strong problem solving and decision making skills are necessary
o Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other appropriate software
o Must be able to operate a cash register
