POSITION
Summary:
This position is responsible for maintaining equipment such as Kenworth, Peterbuilt and Freightliner trucks by performing all regular inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
o Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests to identify worn and/or damaged parts.
o Keeps vehicles available for use by completing preventative maintenance schedules such as bulbs, oil and tires, installing components and parts as needed, controlling corrosion and completing winterizing procedures.
o Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems.
o Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety and combustion control standards.
o Maintains vehicle appearance through regular cleaning, washing and painting.
o Maintains all equipment records by recording service and maintenance.
o Keeps shop equipment operational by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance and calling for repairs as necessary.
o Contains costs by using warranty and evaluating service and parts options.
o Ensures the readiness and availability of supplies through regular inventories and proper purchasing.
o Updates job knowledge through regular participation in educational offerings and reading technical publications.
o Maintains a dependable work attendance record with extremely infrequent absences and/or lateness.
o Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY
Responsibilities:
This position currently has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
1. ASE Certification preferred
2. Minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience as a mechanic repairing and maintaining heavy equipment.
3. High School Diploma or GED.
4. Experience using all tools and equipment necessary to diagnose and repair diesel and other vehicles.
5. Class A CDL preferred
COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Must possess basic level skills in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite software, email and other enterprise specific programs.
EQUIPMENT USAGE:
Must have the knowledge and experience to effectively use all tools such as diagnostic equipment, wrenches, torches, calipers, etc. to diagnose and properly repair equipment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must have ability to read and comprehend instructions, equipment manuals, repair guides, reports and emails.
REASONING ABILITY:
Must have the ability to analyze and solve problems and independently consider and evaluate a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must have ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
