Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for overseeing and heading up the pricing and procurement activities for our ocean (LCL and FCL) and air forwarding services.
Candidate must have the ability to have hands on approach to pricing, procurement and carrier relation accountabilities while working closely with the local branches and sales executives to grow XPO's International line of business.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESDirect and manage a team of pricing and procurement.
Support and work closely with the local branches and sales executives with hands on approach to their pricing needs.
Administer and update carrier contracts.
This includes but is not limited to receiving, reviewing and approving amendments and contract renewals.
Lead all tenders and RFQ's by implementing a hands-on approach.
Oversee and control accuracy and effectiveness of the company's Rate Management Tools.
Liaison with overseas offices and carriers to secure needed carrier capacity and pricing, develop the routings and service options.
Heavy carrier relations and carrier management activity required.
Measure carrier performance and maintain carrier/supplier relationships.
Stay abreast of industry and market developments in the freight forwarding ocean and air marketplace.
Management of competitive Ocean and Air pricing.
Set the strategy for carrier procurement program negotiating annual contracts and/or regular pricing engagements to secure a competitive ocean cost position.
Regular reporting on volume, service scope, lifting performance as operating objectives and KPI's as part of the carrier performance.
Assist in the liaison with corporate communications, such as product offerings, successes, and overall product information distribution.
Prepare and present monthly Management Operation Reviews (MOR) for upper management
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in pricing, procurement and product management in a Freight Forwarding / NVOCC environment.
University Degree (Master-level preferred) in Transportation, International Business or Supply Chain or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Extensive experience managing, interpreting and maintaining carrier contracts.
Extensive experience at management levels in global transportation and /or supply-chain-logistics industries.
Intimate knowledge of International Ocean and air transportation industry, competitors and services.
Experience in the freight forwarding area, global trade lane experience and some financial/accounting practices.
Airfreight knowledge is desirable, but not required.
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESExperience working with TPEB lanes highly preffered.
Excellent organization and planning skills.
Excellent analytical problem solving skills and attention to detailExcellent presentation and communication skills, both written and oral.
Superior MS Excel knowledgeExcellent leadership and motivating abilities.
Solid work ethic and strong time management skills.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
