Job Summary and
Essential Functions:
We are looking for a Manager in our Application Development group. The candidate will be a hands on Team Lead, as our Ruby on Rails guru and technical guiding light. They will be working closely with teams of scientists, as well as leading application developers, in evaluating their needs and providing the appropriate solutions.
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Developing leading edge Ruby on Rails scientific applications from requirement discovery through implementation
- Hands on participation and execution throughout the software development lifecycle, including: architecture, design, implementation, testing and maintenance of scientific business applications
- Organization and project management
- Development of existing staff
- Responsibility for both new and existing systems
Experience and Required Skills:
- This position requires a Master's Degree, and 8
years of experience with:
Ruby on Rails
The LAMP stack of technologies (Linux, Apache, MySQL, ruby/php/Perl/python)
HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Relational database design and SQL
Object oriented design and development
Managerial experience strongly preferred Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
