Product Manager - Leeds, AL
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Responsible for management of particular product line or lines, working with product engineers and marketing to increase sales and margins.
Help development new markets for existing products.
Generate new product ideas and follow through with development that may include establishing marketing policies such as pricing, promotion, branding and supporting issues with the product line.
MAJOR JOB
Responsibilities:
Assist customer service on product application, customer problems, and opportunities Develop plans to increase sales of existing products Provide a network for communicating with the sales (domestic and international) force and product specialists.
Communicate with application engineers and field sales to assure product needs are being met.
Generate new product ideas based on market demands and sound business analysis.
Assist in new product development to include assisting with pricing, product application, and product changes.
Guide new product development launch, including specifying features, marketing plans, and launch.
Create business and marketing plans for existing product expansions and new product launches.
Assist customer service on product application, customer problems, and opportunities.
Act as engineering liaison in development of new products and gap fills.
Establish and implement market policies such as pricing, promotion, and product extensions.
Work with marketing Research and Channel Distribution; develop market plans for existing product lines.
REQUIRED BACKGROUND:
BS degree in business, engineering, or marketing.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a product management or related field.
Proactive, innovative, solution-oriented.
Must possess strong written and oral communication skills.
Must have proven ability to meet project objectives and time lines.
Must be a strong team player.
Must possess strong ambition, drive and motivation to succeed.
Must be able to travel up to 35% as needed.
Global perspective and strong customer interaction skills.
Must be able to give hands on presentations and demonstrations.
