CNC/Mill Lathe Programmer
CNC/MILL LATHE PROGRAMMER
KMT Waterjet, a leader for Waterjet pumps, is expanding to meet the global demand for our pumps and component parts.
KMT Waterjet is currently hiring for a Mill/Lathe CNC Programmer at our Baxter Springs, KS facility.
The CNC Programmer writes new CNC programs for Turning and Milling Machines including but not limited to Multifunction CNC Machinery. Evaluates current CNC Programs and optimize for more efficient tooling and process improvements.
FUNCTIONS and QUALIFICATIONS
o Evaluate part and process to determine all tooling, fixtures and gauging required to process part through machining.
o Establish Part Model in Esprit programming software or equivalent software to generate CNC code.
o Work closely with Machinist's while setting up and running program, debug tooling, fixtures and programing if necessary.
o Continual process improvement in all areas of CNC programs and processes.
o Evaluate Engineering Change Requests, update process models and tooling as required.
o Create operator shop documents on set-up procedures, tooling lists and machining sequences.
o Ability to meet frequent short timeline goals and deadlines
o To perform this job successfully, individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
o Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and fully understand geometric tolerances and dimensioning.
o Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
o Candidate must also be familiar and proficient in safe machining practices including all current manufacturing processes used in CNC Turning and Milling Machinery.
o Ability to understand and work in compliance with engineering drawings.
o Must be highly accurate, have good organizational skills and attention to details.
o CNC programming experience to include multi-axis and complex parts.
o Must be skilled in using geometric and trigonometric formulas to compute compound angles, angular indexing, hole patterns, pitch lead, and pitch diameters for various standard and nonstandard screw threads.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
2-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
