DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Coordinate shipping/freight activities
Have close teamwork/communication with team of drivers to guarantee that schedules are met or even done ahead of time. Need to have great customer service skills, and be an exceptional manager who can think on his feet and can decide correctly on his own. This job demands organization, resourcefulness, and motivation.
Extensive knowledge on all modes of delivery such as trucking, airline, shipping or rail. Responsible for handling the transportation of products from the sender to the receiver.
Updated with the latest whereabouts of the goods needed for delivery; wherein delays are included so as to inform both the receiver and sender of the status of their shipment. In cases of such delays, the freight manager can solve such concerns and boost customer service.
Duty to know exactly the schedule of shipments on a daily basis, the number of goods to be delivered and the delivery modes used, and the warehouse utilized for overnight transfers essential in international shipping. With this, the freight manager must be familiar with the corresponding fees like international tariffs, warehouse storage charges and weight costs.
Handle general administrative tasks such as; record keeping, office organization, database entry, copying, filing, faxing, and mailing
Maintain communication and information between Customers to ensure customers' needs are being met.
Calculate and verify recorded accounting transactions.
Perform calendar management
Assist in scheduling of meetings for potential or current customers
Qualifications:
5 years or more Domestic/International shipping experience
Demonstrated track record of proactivity/desire to get the job done
Sense of Urgency-a must
Trucking, Rail, Air freight shipping experience.
PC proficient: Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Attention to detail and accuracy a must.
Strong customer service acumen and work ethic with the capacity to work independently.
HS Diploma, any college courses or advanced/experience training a plus
