Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation and timely filing of SEC financial reporting documents, including Forms 10Q, 10K, 8K, earnings releases, etc and assist in electronic filing requirements
Manage the gathering and/or preparation of detailed back up to support and ensure accuracy of quarterly and annual reports, earnings press releases, earnings call scripts, and all financial SEC filings. Ensure the maintenance of support for all filings and a detailed tie out for review
Oversee the preparation of GAAP Checklist to ensure compliance with accounting and SEC guidance
Lead the process of XBRL detail tagging in SEC financial statements. Included in this process is ensuring the completeness and accuracy of XBRL detail tagging, migrating XBRL to updated taxonomies, and assisting in the evaluation and identification of required changes/additions to XBRL tags
Coordinate audit requests by the independent external auditors and internal auditors for relevant areas of responsibility
Prepare annual goodwill impairment analysis and coordinate audit of analysis with external auditors
Assist and/or lead special projects, as needed
Perform research to ensure proper accounting treatment and required disclosures under US GAAP and SEC guidance
Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and interpretations governing financial statements and disclosure
Perform certain SOX controls and prepare documentation, evidencing their performance
May assist in accounting for share-based compensation, deferred financing costs, and other technical accounting areas
Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification

yrs accounting/finance experience

yrs supervising accounting and/or audit functions

Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience with a major public accounting firm with a concentration on SEC reporting clients.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.
A solid understanding of accounting, financial, and control procedures, methods, concepts, philosophies, and the ability to make independent decisions is critical
Position requires the capability to conduct effective interactions with operating and corporate staff, and management at all levels, as well as outside consultants, vendors, actuaries, public accountants, lawyers and government agencies.
Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to take generalized work assignments and plan, organize and summarize work results and recommend a course of action
Ability to multitask, work against tight project schedules and prioritize tasks to meet competing deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communications skills which are understandable by a wide range of business associates
Proficiency in software tools such as Excel and Word and willingness to learn to utilize business systems such as PeopleSoftEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
