Job Description:
Phlebotomists serve patients by preparing specimens for laboratory testing and performing screening procedures. Phlebotomists also maintain specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures; observing isolation procedures.
Job duties of a phlebotomist include:
o Tracking collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection
o Maintaining daily tallies of collections performed
o Verifies test requisitions by comparing information with nursing station log
o Bringing discrepancies to the attention of unit personnel
o Obtaining blood specimens by performing venipuncture and finger sticks.
Job Requirements:
Active State License
At Least 1 Year of Professional Experience
Current CPR/BLS Card
