Experienced Litigation Paralegal - Personal Injury

A personal injury law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal with a minimum three (3 years) of experience in personal injury.

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for work that primarily involves researching laws, investigating facts and preparing legal documents to assist the Litigation Attorney by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
A strong knowledge of the personal injury litigation process
Research and analyze law sources; such as, statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles and legal codes.
Prepare legal documents; such as, briefs, pleadings, closing papers and binders for review, approval and use by the Litigation Attorney; discovery and completing discovery responses, conference and/or meeting with clients to complete legal documents.
Assist Litigation Attorney at legal proceedings in the preparation of charts, graphs, photographic enlargements and other evidentiary exhibits.
Ensure proper indexing and filing of original legal documents.
Prepare affidavits of documents.
Compose letters and other correspondence independently and as directed.
Perform clerical duties when required; schedule relevant legal appointments and other necessary administrative responsibilities.
Perform other clerical duties, when necessary, such as filing, scanning, photocopying and collating.
Ability to work in a faced paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to take direction from an Attorney.
Strong Computer knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience with Time Matters a plus.
Maintain confidential and sensitive information.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent;
Associate of Applied Science, Paralegal Studies Degree (A.A.S.);
Either from a two-year or four-year college or technical school; or a
Professional Paralegal Certification via a Certified Paralegal Program provider, e.g. NALA;
Required, one (1) year experience while possessing a Professional Paralegal Certification and/or an AAS Paralegal Studies Degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience as separately required by the minimum qualifications enumerated above.

Note: Those not possessing a formal education degree or professional certification, as listed above, are required to have at least five (5) years of experience as a full time paralegal with personal injury experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Professional Paralegal Certification, preferred.

Starting at 40K annually, willing to increase DOQ. If you have specific salary requirements please include that information when you submit your resume.


Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
