Job Title: Electrician
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Director of Facilities
Facility: Alamance Community College
Shift: 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
Summary:
Responsible for the installation, maintenance and repairs of all electrical systems and equipment in order to ensure the safe, efficient and economical operation of all systems on campus.
Principal Accountabilities/
Responsibilities:
Repair and maintain electrical systems including lighting, power supplies and clock systems.
Install and maintain electrical equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance on all electrical equipment.
Assist other crafts in other electrical areas as needed.
Maintain inventory and accountability for tools, parts, test equipment and supplies used in the electrical systems.
Ensure work areas are left clean and safe upon completion of work.
Participate in training sessions provided by Aramark.
Available for on-call duty when needed.
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge/Education/
Experience:
Ability to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions. Work may require operation and use of many types of equipment and tools.
Ability to communicate frequently with faculty and staff concerning needs and with departmental leaders concerning electrical/maintenance needs. Must be knowledgeable of all applicable electrical codes and common safety practices.
Minimum of five years experience as a licensed electrician
Electrical license required.
Physical Requirements:
Work requires moderate physical exertion (30 to 50 pounds) on a regular basis. Must possess full range of body motions due to work environment and working conditions. Must be able to work in confined areas and on various size ladders. Continuous and prolonged periods of standing, bending, and stooping when performing assignments.
Environmental Conditions:
Work may involve exposure to unpleasant working conditions or undesirable elements; may involve exposure to a variety of elements which are potentially hazardous or harmful which require exercise of well defined precautions for protection from injury or illness.
