Communications Assistant
Career Connections is looking for a Communications Assistant to provide support for a busy academic unit in Athens, Ohio. The communications assistant maintains proper branding standards for the college throughout print, media, and communication campaigns. Duties will include crafting and disseminating press releases, story writing, editing and proofreading written content, and other minor office tasks as needed.
This is a part-time, temporary assignment starting as soon as April 20, if possible. The position is expected to last 2-3 months, and will give 20-30 hours/week. The schedule can be flexible, but occurs Monday - Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The pay rate is commensurate with experience but in the range of $15-18/hour.
To qualify for this position, a Bachelor's degree is required. Must have computer proficiency, especially in MS Office programs. Excellent writing, editing, and curatorial skills expected. Previous experience working in marketing or journalism preferred, with preference given to those with prior press writing experience.
