Job Description:
As Scrum Master, you will be part of an R&D team that delivers high-quality testing software.
The individual in this role will be an integral part of the application software platform team and will be responsible for all aspects of our agile software development process.
The ideal candidate will have a software development background and be passionate about agile software development.
The Scrum Master role offers a unique opportunity to stay close to the technical side of the business while providing the leadership opportunities and experience needed in future management roles.
Responsibilities:
Manage R&D software development projects through each phase of the development lifecycle
Understand key business objectives and strategy of the product, and communicate to the team
Coordinate and facilitate sprint/release planning meetings, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives and demos
Work with Product and Development managers to manage the backlog, and with engineers to prioritize and assign stories
Maintain and communicate key metrics including team velocity, sprint and release status
Identify and remove obstacles that may interfere with the ability of the team to deliver its goals
Promote continuous process improvement
Foster a collaborative team environment; enable creativity and innovation
Act as mentor and coach for others on agile principles and development methodology
Design and develop software tools to aid in any of these duties
Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
Previous experience as scrum master on large programs
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to gain the respect of the team, external stakeholders, and leadership
Demonstrated ability to understand business needs and execute on a business strategy
Strong conflict resolution, negotiation and leadership skills
Preferred
Qualifications:
Scrum Master Certification or equivalent training
Experience with TFS Server administration
Previous experience leading offshore teams
Experience in managing individuals
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
