Diesel Technician 2nd shift

Position Purpose:
An integral and vital part of the customer service experience is the manner in which service personnel interact with our customers. This position is crucial to achieve the highest customer satisfaction by performing his / her duties in accordance with current OEM practices and our company's procedures.
Responsibilities:
Be ready to work at shift start time.
Have all your own tools required to perform the tasks you are assigned.
Assist Service Manager in his tasks as required to keep the department running smoothly.
Stay up-to-date on all on-line training requirements.
Follow daily workload from service schedule and make changes as required for emergencies or walk-in customers.
Iknow cases need to be monitored and kept current.
Keep track of all shop tools during use. Clean and return to their proper location when complete. If broken, notify by tagging with description and your name for follow-up.
Perform all repairs to meet DOT compliance.
Stay current and follow established company safety policies and procedures.
Be certified on U.S. DOT Annual Inspections, brake inspections, A/C compliance and other maintenance procedures in accordance with the corresponding regulations.
Create and maintain positive relationships with all drivers and customer representatives.
Create and maintain positive relationship with supervisor and other technicians.
Be proactive when working with customer maintenance issues and problems.
Handle all customer issues in a professional and courteous manner.
Display honesty in all company and customer related dealings.
Be familiar with the procedures to recognize all warrantable failures, warranty claims and warranty recovery.
Ensure that all warranty parts are clean, lube drained (if required), tagged and stored in the designated location.
Ensure that all completed vehicles are parked in the designated area, locked and keys tagged and returned to the service office.
Keep abreast of all warranty policies and product changes to maintain effectiveness in this role.
Ensure that all repairs are documented on back of RO, comments are descriptive, and mileage/date is recorded after every road test.
Maintain a valid Commercial Drivers License - at minimum a Class B.
Ensure that all vehicles are road tested when required and that the repairs are completed correctly.
Keep up to date on all warranty repair requirements and product changes to maintain effectiveness in this role.
Have the ability to utilize Service Portal at the time of write up.
Attend all Service Department staff meetings as required.
Maintain a safe and clean work stall.
Ensure the proper use, care and storage of all tools.
Tag any tools and/or equipment which don't work properly, include fault description and your name for if questions arise.

Education:

The preferred candidate will be a graduate of a Vocational/Diesel Tech program and have additional on-the-job experience, but not required.
Candidate must:
Have good computer knowledge and skills
Have the ability to routinely lift 75#
Have a minimum of a Class B CDL (or be able to obtain on within a specified period of time)
Have an acceptable driving record
Be able to pass a pre-employment physical/drug screen/back screenEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
