Diesel Mechanic

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Maintenance Mechanic maintains and repairs all Company vehicles, equipment and tooling within the assigned facility.
Responsibilities:
o Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
o Performs preventative maintenance, conducts inspections, troubleshoots, diagnoses failures & deficiencies & performs necessary corrections. This includes conducting offsite road repairs/service calls.
o Completes and maintains all service, parts/inventory records in a timely & accurate manner.
o Completes daily checklist as required for proper operation of the unit being operated.
o Assures unit has daily maintenance duties performed and communicates any problems or issues with the unit immediately upon discovery.
o Assures unit is never operated when been tagged Out of Service (removes keys).
o Reviews all applicable SOPs, scores satisfactorily on quizzes and conducts all mandatory Company and job specific training.
o Completes and submits all associated paperwork as required for tracking PM schedules.
o Conducts Safety Checks & Annual Vehicle Inspections in accordance to provincial & federal laws.
o Assures that Equipment is properly parked in compliance with facility permit and DOT requirements.
o Fabricating, welding, modifications etc. / pump & piping installs/trailer modifications.
o Ensures that work meets all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
o Ensures, understands and has ownership for area specific permit required compliance standards.
o Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.
o Performs other assignments as assigned by management.
o Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the business.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
o High School Diploma or equivalent required.
o 5
years experience in a shop environment and experience working as a Mechanic on and/or around Heavy Duty equipment and repairs
o State or local license requirements
o Demonstrates complete proficiency in diagnostic, repair and maintenance of one of the following units: backhoe, heavy duty crane, heavy duty forklift, trackhoe, excavator, roll off truck, forklifts, pick up trucks, box trucks, tractors, and tankers.
o Demonstrates complete proficiency in tooling and equipment diagnostic, repair and maintenance.
o Must be versed in all aspects e.g. electrical, computer, ECMs, fuel, air systems, ABS, hydraulic systems, engines etc.
o Valid 310T truck & coach license (310S would be considered).
o DOT training.
o First Aid. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Requires speaking, listening, and acuity
o Requires sitting, standing, grasping, and reaching
o Requires walking, stooping, and crouching
o Requires lifting, pulling, pushing, or carrying up to 15 lbs
Employment is contingent upon a successful background check and drug screen. Some positions also require a pre-hire medical exam. Must meet all work eligibility requirements. Environmentally-responsible business.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
