Logistics Manager

JOB POSITION
The Manager, Materials is responsible for all the planning, direction, and coordination of transportation activities to support Carlex's unique logistical requirements. The Manager, Materials also works with the manufacturing operations to ensure accurate production reporting and provide necessary training where required. These activities include all material and product related domestic and international transportation. This position also develops and measures key performance metrics and resolves transportation concerns, such as claim issues and effective route planning, as they occur, as well as negotiates appealing rates and contracts among suppliers in the market.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, direct, and coordinate the transportation and logistics of materials and products, both domestically and internationally, to achieve the Company's goals
Develop and measure key performance metrics related to transportation and logistics
Resolve claim issues as necessary
Approve relevant invoices as they occur
Coordinate and provide the best cost effective routes
Competitively bid Company requirements within the market
Negotiate the best rates among transportation and logistics costs
Negotiate appealing contracts with couriers and other services related to transportation
Ensure transportation activities are compliant with State and Federal regulations in respective areas, including, but not limited to, US Customs and Homeland Security
Develop, monitor, and audit the Production Reporting Reconciliation Process for Transfers, Barcodes, Scrap, and Work Center accuracy
Investigate suspect transactions and assist in resolving issues through feedback, training, reports or procedures
Interface with Production, Information Technology, and Finance to identify areas for reporting accuracy improvement
Develop procedures and work instructions to improve and standardize production and supporting processes. Examples include barcode, scrap, shipping, etc.
Coordinate and direct Physical Inventory Resources for all WIP and finished good areas.
Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned, including, but not limited to, OCC and Capacity studies
Coordinate and perform part audits or cycle counts between inventories
Provide Shipping Process documentation
Train Plant Superintendents on usage and understanding of GMAPS
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or relevant field required
Years of
Experience:
10
years of experience in Logistics or relevant field required
3
years experience in progressive positions in MP&L, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing/Warehouse
Other Requirements:
APICS or other manufacturing /operations certification preferred
Valid driver's license required for business travel
Regular and predictable attendance required
Cooperate within teams to carry out tasks and responsibilities
Overtime may be required as work load or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays
Highly experienced and strong understanding of government regulations related to logistics
Experience with strategic planning and implementation required
Experience with the coordination of personnel and resources required

KEY COMPETENCIES
Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
