Billing Specialist
A Billing Specialist is needed for a multi-office sports medicine & physical therapy practice in Seneca, SC. Responsible for collecting, posting, applying correct network adjustments, managing account payments, submitting claims as well as following up with insurance companies for collection/resolution.
Essential Functions:
prepares & submits clean claims to various insurance companies either electronically or by paper
prepares, reviews, and sends patient statements
processes payments from insurance companies & prepares daily deposits
performs daily backups on office computer system
participates in educational activities & attends monthly staff meetings
conducts self in accordance with company policies and employee manual directions
maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines / regulations
Skills/Experience Require Knowledge of the Following:
medical billing/collection practices
computer systems such as Microsoft Office, EMR systems, etc
business office procedures and practices
basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practices
operating a computer, basic office equipment, multi-line telephone system
pleasant, polished, helpful, and compassionate disposition at all times
ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions
ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, management, and the public in general
well organized, detail oriented, and able to meet all deadlines
able to work Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pmEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
