Flight Instructor
Epic Flight Academy (formerly Epic Aviation) is currently hiring qualified flight instructors. Epic Flight Academy has been open since 1999 and is a certified Part 141 Flight School.
We operate a fleet of modern Cessna 172's with full G1000 systems, autopilot, and TIS. With over 200 students and 50 flight instructors, Epic is continuing to grow.
Flight Instructors are responsible for providing high quality flight, simulator, and ground instruction in accordance with Epic Aviation policies and FAA regulations. Instructors must prepare and maintain records (paper and electronic), ensure that course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met by each student.
Applicants must possess an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with instrument rating, as well as at least an FAA Flight Instructor Certificate (CFII preferred). The applicant must be able to satisfactorily demonstrate through ground and flight examination an ability to provide instruction in all PTS tasks to the level required by Epic Flight Academy. The applicant must possess an instructional understanding of basic aviation principles such as aerodynamics, weather and systems. They must also be proficient in pilot skills such as, maneuvers, landings, ADM/RM, and situational awareness.
Epic Flight Academy Instructors are expected to work well with diverse groups of people and understanding the complexities of teaching student from all around the world. We also expect the highest level of safety from our instructors, which should translate into a high expectation of safety from their students. Instructors with a safety background may be considered for additional opportunities in our safety team and/or management team.
Instructors are eligible to sign up for health insurance after 60 days. Paid time off, and holiday pay eligibility begins at 90 days.
Epic Flight Academy offers contracts for additional ratings, as well as an aggressive bonus structure designed to reward excellent performance.
