One of our clients in Henderson, Nevada is looking to fill an Accountant III job opening. The Accountant III position is responsible for assisting the finance department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities:
The Accountant III position is responsible for performing various accounting functions including assisting with month end close and financial statement preparation, internal audits, assist with external and regulatory agency audits and other financial reporting as deemed necessary.
Addition duties include:
Analyzes accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department;
Works with the CFO on appropriate fiscal strategies for the organization;
Reviews records of accounts to ensure accuracy;
Develops systems for the maintenance of financial records, making use of current technologies; and
Creates and/or maintains forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel.

Educational Requirements:
BS in Accounting
CPA preferred

Additional Requirements:
Five plus (5+) years of experience in the Utilities Industry or Public Accounting;
F/S statement preparation;
Proficiency in MS Excel is required;
Understanding internal controls;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Attention to detail and very organized;
Ability to maintain confidentiality pertaining to the Company's finances; and
Pass background check.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
