Responsibilities:
Purpose and Summary of position:
Responsible for the safety of process and personnel, reliability of equipment and efficiencies with his/her assigned area.
Continuously monitors and makes the necessary adjustments to ensure that the process and equipment are operated within appropriate safe operating limits.
Perform all responsibilities as required for each appropriate level of Operator progression
Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and Company standards as they pertain to the following: Safety, Health, Environmental, and Housekeeping Standards.
Qualifications:
Required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
0-3
years with a High School diploma and an Associates Degree in Chemical Process Technology
Minimum 3 years in petrochemical manufacturing facility/refinery/chemical terminal OR military experience
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple assignments
Teamwork, mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills
Work 12 hour rotating shifts, including overtime when required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including computer usage
Desirable
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of Process Safety, SAP, Process Operations, Mechanical Operations, Laboratory Operations, Regulatory Requirements
Read Technical Drawings (P&ID)
Experience in Standard Work Processes, Work Permits and Permitting, and Process Operations
Familiar with DCS Operation, Safety Instrumented Systems, and Oxygen Handling StandardsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
