Job Description Kelly Services is seeking a Quality Engineer for Government Contractor in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
Position
Summary:
Responsible for quality system development and supporting product quality improvements.
Develops, maintain and deploys Quality Plans and activities that translate Customer requirements into planned activities.
Ability to work independently and to provide technical training and mentorship to junior engineers, technicians and inspectors.

- Responsible for quality system development and supporting product quality improvements - Develops, maintain and deploys quality plans and activities that translate customer requirements into planned activities - Ability to work independently and to provide technical training and mentorship to junior engineers, technicians and inspectors- Performs analyses of program requirements and prepares responsive quality plans, procedures, schedules and resource allocations to assure optimum quality support- Reviews and approves engineering/test and contractor documentation and provides input to assure that appropriate quality requirements are addressed- Provides ongoing quality system support to include performing internal audits, ensuring implementation of root cause corrective actions- Leads product quality improvement teams, Material Review Boards and participates in Failure Review Boards- Evaluates and dispositions non-conforming material- Provides technical support for Assembly/Test/Inspection personnel to include executing workmanship improvement plans, developing inspection methods and criteria, specifying appropriate sampling plans, interpreting and revising specifications, and processing non-conforming materials- Leads in resolving customer quality issues and driving root cause and corrective action on process and product quality issues- Assists in developing and deploying SPC initiatives- Participates in supplier selection and improvement processes responsibilities include leading with on-site audits, evaluating prototypes, and reviewing and approving of supplier corrective actions- Analyzes and executes projects independently- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer, as required- Evaluates and makes recommendations on critical supplier selections and drives supplier continuous improvement processes Responsibilities include leading on-site audits, evaluating prototypes, and reviewing and approving of supplier corrective actions- Leads and executes customer quality program requirements- Develops and generates statistical reports on inspection activities and results, new product or process testing results, etc and recommends action as required- Establishes programs to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production and processing equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical facilities- Considers financial impacts of quality process controls and inspections- Attend appropriate customer, business or program meetings- Prepares quality engineering reports and recommendations - Monitor and mentor junior Quality Engineers- Provides regular reporting of progress and status- Completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationBasic
Qualifications:
- Bachelor-s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred or related technical field- 5 plus years of experience in a program quality and/or manufacturing quality engineering capacity.
- Electrical, electronic, subcontracting experience- Familiar with J-Standard, IPC-610, metrology, NDT, assembly and test- Defense/Aerospace experience preferred- Mechanical experience in an electrical/electronic based industry- Familiar with precision machining/metal removal/heat treatment/chemical treatment/metrology/NDT- Experience with cable, circuit card assemblies, and electromechanical assemblies and corresponding fabrication processes.
- Experience with AS9100 and ISO9001 based management systems.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Working knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP business systems.
- Proficient with process improvement tools such as 6 sigma, lean, statistics.
- ASQ certification and/or Green Belt certification desired.
- Excellent blue print reading skills.
- Understand ANSI Y14.
5 and GD&T.
- Good interpersonal, negotiation, communication and writing skills.
- Ability to define problems and drive to root cause and effective corrective action.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- US Citizenship is requiredThis is position is a Direct Hire to the company with a salary of $80k (negotiable).
