PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Supports FMCNA's mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy.
Adheres to the FMCNA Compliance Program, including following all regulatory and division/company policy requirements.
Responsible for assisting in the preparation and set-up of laboratory tests for specimen processing.
DUTIES / ACTIVITIES:
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Responsible for driving the FMCNA culture through values and customer service standards.
Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers.
Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication.
Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Must be able to perform all the duties of a Laboratory Assistant IPerform name searches and communicate findings with other departments Process Pending, Add-On, Pour Specimens Create Dummy logsOperate and troubleshoot the OLA/MK2 sorting machinePerform daily and weekly OLA/MK2 maintenanceProcess Stat Test Orders and proficiency samplesWater ProcessingHome Patient ProcessingManual Scan all specimen types (blood, water and other specimens)Barcode specimensBatch specimens and create worksheetsSet up colony counts for Microbiology (requires cross-training)Assist with Sendout preparationAssist LeadsRoutinely attend compliance and OSHA training.
Attend staff and inter-departmental meetings as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Lead.

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Some college or courses in medical terminology preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
Two (2) years of demonstrated experience assisting in laboratory activities, preferably in the health care field.
2 Must have the ability to follow precise directions, both written and verbal in situations requiring speed, accuracy, and efficiency while work under direct supervision or independently.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Must type minimum 35 wpm.
Must be able to navigate an Windows based computer.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
