Scope of Position:
Product Line Management of the following categories:
Microplate portfolio (96-, 384-, 1536- and specialty)
Stripwell plate portfolio
Storage plates
Epic label-free technology platform (products & services)
Day to Day
Responsibilities:
This position requires an experienced product line management professional coupled with a strong technical understanding of trends and behaviors in the Drug Discovery market concerning consumables products used in assay development, drug screening, and downstream lead characterization activities in both large and small molecule programs.
Drive top line sales growth and manage S&A spending in order to achieve Sales, AGM and COM metrics
Assist in the development of sales tools and technical training programs for the CLS sales organization and channel partners
Maintain effective, regular communication with international and domestic Sales, Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Forecasting Departments
Lead the development and maintenance of all relevant marketing content on the CLS Web site
Manage forecast information for products under supervision
Serve as the intermediary for key suppliers in dealing with day to day operations
Monitor out-of-stock situations and communicate corrective actions with manufacturing and the business team
Establish, track and manage service levels according to designated metrics
Special Projects and Task as defined by the Business Director, Cell Biology Portfolio
Communicate regularly with the sales organization on all pertinent information related to products
Develop and maintain key customer relationships in order to facilitate voice of customer feedback
Maintain knowledge of competitive products, market perception, and market direction
Travel Requirements: 20-30% International when necessary
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 40 hours a week
Required Education:
Masters in Life Sciences (Required)
PhD in Life Sciences (Preferred)
Required Years and Area of
Experience:
5-10 years of business experience including: product management, marketing sales, and business development with proven expertise in the Drug Discovery market segment in particular
Required Skills:
Strong leadership skills and experience managing cross functionally in a matrix organization
Strong background and understanding of drug discovery technologies and approaches
Ability to think strategically and develop growth plans for the business
Strong knowledge of marketing tools and techniques
Strong business opportunity assessment and financial analysis skills
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, and proven ability to present to customers in the field
Strong negotiation skills
Understanding of product development process; ability to drive new products projects as the commercial lead
Decisive, risk taker
Desired Skills:
Creative, able to think out of the box
Good team skills, able to work in dynamic environment and interact with others
Product development experience, especially with launching new products
Experience working in international markets with global pharma organizations
