A successful candidate of this position will work under general supervision of the Unit Manager. Candidate will work as part of the VMDO research and graduate education (ORGE) team. Responsible for all tasks related to curricular support for the school of veterinary medicine departmentally based graduate courses. Plan and coordinate the academic calendar. Serve as liaison with department chair, MSO, graduate studies, financial aid office, students and other graduate program faculty and administrative staff. Assist UM with administrative responsibilities for the center for food animal health. Manage associate dean of research and graduate education calendar. Schedule new and repeat appointments. Coordinate travel arrangements, securing hotels and flights. Process reimbursements. Assist ORGE webmaster with updating research and graduate education web page, email SVM faculty opportunities announcements, research news, and student news and opportunities. Responsible for proofreading announcements and web pages and validating links on communications. Coordinate the distribution of printed materials to specific lists. Answer phones and direct visitors. Participate in special ceremonies and events organized by the office.
Requirements
The candidate should have computer skills using MS Word, Excel, and Microsoft office and database management. Knowledge of purchasing, accounting and travel reimbursement procedures. Customer service experience in a business office environment, experience working independently to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple complex and detailed projects. Adapt to changing work priorities, and perform interrelated tasks. Candidate also need to have writing, editing and proofreading skills to produce reports, forms and correspondence, skills to organize effectively to achieve timely progress on multiple simultaneous projects. Meet deadlines and maintain a high level of productivity, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to interact on a telephone and take messages, converse with persons and convey instructions, directions and information appropriately. Experience with web maintenance, in event planning, using DaFIS, DaFIS decision support, PPS/OPTRS, PPS decision support, MyTravel, Kuali. Knowledge of UC purchasing, accounting and travel reimbursement procedures fundamentals. Experience working with confidential records, experience using CAMS and knowledge of UC equipment policies and procedures, experience conducting research to include collecting and compiling information for events, experience working with a networked database are preferred. Stand for extended periods during events. Lift/carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds and walk short distances. Work occasional overtime.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
