SUMMARY
Data Scientist needed to use analytics and decision modeling skills to discover relationships and patterns within large complex data sets. Utilize your modeling expertise with statistical techniques such as regression, logistic regression, neural networks, clustering techniques and other classification methods.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilize analytics to frame business scenarios and impact critical business problems
Articulate how the statistical information can be leveraged to drive insight and value
Implement algorithms that extract information from machine generated data and analyze it
Utilize algorithms and statistical and data mining packages for discovery
Define collection processes and select the proper data infrastructure to perform analysis
Utilize Cloud-based platform to process high volume and computationally intensive data processing routines and scientific models
Automate data management processes including developing a library of features that can be incorporated into a modeling platform
REQUIREMENTS
1-3 years industry experience in data mining and hands-on experience in quantitative modeling, analysis and data modeling
Strong proficiency in SQL and knowledgeable in scripting and command line operations
Expertise in statistical techniques such as decision trees, neural networks, clustering techniques
Ability to work with large, complex data sets from varying sources
Theoretical and hands-on experience in statistical techniques, development of predictive models and machine learning algorithms
Proven ability to translate theoretical results into practical applications
Experience with statistical packages such as: SAS, R, Statistica, SPSS, MLlib, Python
Strong communication and presentation skills
Bachelor's degree, (prefer Master's Degree), in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Engineering, or data intensive life sciences
PREFERENCES
Experience in big data solutions i.e.; Hadoop, Redshift, Map Reduce and related languages
Experience in geospatial information systems and geostatistics
Experience in natural language processing techniques and text analyticsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
