Position Description
Summary:
Reporting to the Systems Director, the DevOps Engineer will be the primary owner of application deployment and associated build processes. The administrator will support and maintain Linux systems in a traditional web environment, learn adjunct applications running on these systems, and optimize standard administration functions. The qualified candidate will utilize strong leadership, have the ability to follow the leadership of others, practice effective communication, be adaptable to change, and have the capability to collaborate and share information with all levels of the team.

Essential Function(s) of the Position:
Listed below are the core responsibilities of the Systems Administrator. These are specific duties and tasks that an ideal candidate in this position must accomplish:

Take a hands-on role working with Application Development and Systems Operations teams to enable quick builds in an Agile development environment
Point of contact for projects responsible to identify, design and act as liaison to deliver project infrastructure needs
Determine present and future system capability needs and ensure systems are capable of handling anticipated current and future volume.
Configure, install, maintain, and tune OS on Linux systems. Ensure all defined standards for documentation, naming standards, and change controls are followed.
Propose and review automation scripts and processes to streamline administrative and build tasks
Manage processes related to data integrity including back-up, off-site storage, and business continuity planning.
Manage security measures to minimize the risk of internet security breaches.
Manage problems dispatched by systems support analysts as the second level of support.

Education, Experience and
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in: Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or relevant work experience.
2 years of Linux Administration experience is required
Windows 7 Desktop support
TCP/IP Networking fundamentals and Microsoft Exchange
At least 1-2 years of experience in software programming/development
Solid understanding of server architecture and hardware both bare metal and virtualized (VMWare, Xen, etc.)
Experience with administering J2EE Applications Servers (Jboss, Tomcat, Jetty, Weblogic, etc.)
Solid understanding of UNIX user commands.
Scripting skill are required, experience with Perl is ideal.
Experience supporting Java based applications preferred.
Familiarity with build automation tools such as Jenkins, Maven, and Ant.
Experience with UNIX and network security, including firewalls (commercial and open source).
Occasional travel required.

Demonstrated project management and problem analysis/resolution skills.
Solid organizational skills with a methodical approach to systems and problem solving.
Willingness to share with and learn from others at all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of current technology landscape including Linux, UNIX, and Networking.
Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment
Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and expectations within E7 Solutions

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
