Southeast Emulsions is a part of Reeves Construction Company, a leader in heavy highway construction and maintenance. Reeves Construction builds and maintains roads, airport runways and surfaces, parking lots and parking garage surfaces. Southeast Emulsions is a vertically integrated Pavement Preservation solution provider supplying Pavement Preservation products and the services to apply and maintain Interstates, State highways, city streets, county roads, airports, airstrips and all other road surfaces.
Summary
NO RELOCATION PACKAGE OFFERED
Under the general supervision of the Terminal Superintendent, this intermediate level position performs general operator tasks as described below. This position is considered Safety Sensitive and the associate is charged with the responsibility to perform their assigned tasks in a safe manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
May be assigned to perform other tasks, as required, including but not limited to the following:
Perform Asphalt Emulsion production, including troubleshooting of production operations and formula verification.
Perform basic Hot Oil Heater operations including Hot Oil Heater maintenance including maintenance of pumps and pumping devices.
Perform all Terminal tasks and activities including fluid transport, vessel storage, and heat exchange operations and procedures and truck loading and unloading.
Perform emulsion lab QC testing procedures such as the Penetration Test, Viscosity Test, and the DSR Test for all products, including supporting documentation and reports. Familiarity with product specifications desired but not required.
Assist, with supervision, in the operation of the emulsion mill.
Conduct basic preventative and specific plant maintenance tasks.
Meet and maintain production quotas.
Demonstrate strong team work/ team building skills
Build and maintain positive customer service relations
Maintains cleanliness and organization of entire facility
Performs other duties as assigned
Work varying schedules including nights and weekends with little to no notice
Must be able to climb vertical tanks by means of safety ladders
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. However, temporary assignments in leadership roles may be required for operational as well as career development purposes.

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma. Asphalt Terminal experience is a plus but not required.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Reasoning ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to effectively use tools of fluid transport, vessel storage, and heat exchange data and apply to the daily tasks of terminal and emulsion operations is a plus; otherwise ability to work with several variables simultaneously.
Certificates, Licenses, Special Skills:
This job requires strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience using a variety of hand-tools. Some computer literacy is required.
This job requires the employee to have a valid driver's license and a driving record that will be acceptable to the company's auto and hiring policies.
